How to Make the Shower Magickal: A Shower Ritual

Image
I always read about such lovely bath rituals and would see such beautiful pictures of luxurious bathtubs with candles and crystals surrounding it. After seeing these images, I often wish that I had such a nice set up for bath rituals. But, alas, I am stuck with only a shower and my dream of bathing in fresh flowers will have to wait. If you are also in a similar situation, I am here to provide you with an alternative: shower ritual. Keep reading if you want to add a little more magick into your washing. Cleanse the area  As with any magickal ritual, it is important to cleanse the area by either burning sage, an incense, or palo santo. Create the Setting  Even if you are taking a shower, mood lighting can make a world of a difference. Just place a few candles in places that won't get wet and will not risk falling over. Also turn off the lights (making sure you can still see well enough). Feel free to add crystals to enhance the ritual. Play relaxing music This is

Simple Ideas to add to your Altar for Ostara

Image
During this time of the year, life can become especially busy and our craft may get neglected. But, due to Ostara coming up, you may still want to decorate your Altar. Whether you want some last minute ideas or items that won't break the bank, I am here to provide you with simple ideas todecorate your Ostara altar.  The Dollar Store Never underestimate the usefulness of your local dollar store. They usually sell little decorations that cater for the current holiday and are always cheap! All of the items in the picture came out to be a little over 10$ and they really spruced up my altar.  DIY projects  For the nest, I was able to collect some Spanish moss and twigs and use spray glue to form this bird nest. For a more detailed tutorial on how to create this bird nest click this  here.   After I made the nest I painted the eggs from the dollar store with gold acrylic paint a sea sponge. All I did was dab the sponge in the paint and then dab it along t

Ostara Ritual for the solitary witch

Image
Spring happens to be one of my favorite times of the year and along with it, one of my favorite sabbaths, Ostara. This year, it is on March 20 (if you are in the northern hemisphere) and also happens to land on the full moon. Ostara is the true marker of Spring and the Earth warming up for rebirth and renewal. Fresh flowers are in the air and light energy is all around us at this time. To celebrate the new holiday, here is a ritual for ostara: what you need:  An altar decorated for Ostara You can decorate your altar with pastel colored ribbons and eggs. Flowers are also good editions, as well as, symbols of young animals. This could include the bunny, chicks, calves, etc.  Flowers  Boiled egg or an orange if you do not eat dairy Either a bowl of water or water in your cauldron seeds that sprout during the spring (marigolds, daisies, poppy seeds) A pot full of fresh soil  Preparation: Doing this ritual outside is preferable, but it is perfectly okay to also complet

Tackling this season's Mercury Retrograde

Image
We are already 1 week into the first mercury retrograde of this year, can you tell? Well, I sure can! But, I am here to provide you with information all about this mercury retrograde in Pisces and how we're going to make it through.  What is a Mercury Retrograde? Several times out of the year, Mercury goes into retrograde, which means that it is moving in an opposite direction to the Earth. Once Mercury turns to move from west to east (as opposed to the usual east to west) it is in retrograde. From Earth, it appears that Mercury is moving backwards, but this is actually an illusion.  Astrologically speaking, Mercury is associated with communication, traveling, coordination, technology, and even thought processes. Due to the appearance of  change in Mercury's planetary movement, the retrograde is said to cause bad luck and issues such as car problems, relationship problems, and flight cancellations. What does this mean for you?   Have you been experiencing a

Beginner Herbs for your Witchy Garden

Image
Herbs are an essential part to a lot of witch's crafts. Finding fresh herbs can be expensive and locating dried herbs can be annoying. Also, for most places, you have no idea where these items came from. Creating your own herb garden can connect you more with nature, provide you with fresh items for your craft, and give the therapeutic effects of gardening. However, growing plants can be easier said than done and that is why I am here to provide you four beginner friendly plants to get you started.  Mint I have been growing sweet mint for the past couple years and even when I have been neglectful to my plants, this one always makes a comeback. It is by far the easiest plant that I have grown and it is very useful in your craft.  Growing Mint Mint is fast growing and will take over any garden quickly. This is why I suggest leaving it in it's own pot. Plant mint in the spring or the fall, when there is no chance of frost. Plant seedlings 18 to 24 inche
